Baroque Ensemble

Modern Band and UW Jazz Faculty

<p>The UW Modern Band (Cuong Vu, advisor) performs music by Benny Golson, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Thelonious Monk, and others. In the second half of the program, Jazz Studies faculty Marc Seales (piano), Ted Poor (drums), and Steve Rodby (bass) perform original music by Seales and arrangements of select cover tunes.</p>

UW Symphony and Combined UW Choirs

UW Symphony: Strings Faculty Showcase

<p>David Alexander Rahbee directs the UW Symphony and UW Strings faculty Saeunn Thorsteinsdóttir, Melia Watras, Rachel Lee Priday, Jordan Anderson, and Valerie Muzzolini in a program including the world premiere of a new work by violist/composer Melia Watras, and music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, <span>Bottesini, </span>Brahms, and <span>Giuseppe Sammartini</span>. </p>

Guitar Studio Recital

<p>Students of Michael Partington perform music for solo, duo and guitar quartet. The program takes listeners on a fascinating journey from Antonio Salieri’s exciting Sinfonia Veneziana to beautiful Scottish Folksong arrangements, via music of the Americas by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Leo Brouwer, and Maximo Diego Pujol. Also featuring lute songs by John Dowland, with special guest tenor Oliver Callahan.</p>
