Accessibility to Meany Hall for Patrons with Disabilities

The University of Washington is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, activities, education and employment for individuals with disabilities.

Parking

The Central Plaza Garage just below Meany Hall has wheelchair and disability parking on all levels. Enter the garage from 15th Avenue NE at NE 41st Street. Upon entering campus at the gatehouse, a visitor who is mobility impaired should self-identify in order to be accommodated. Visitors will be assigned parking in an area as close to their destination as possible. Parking permits for disabled and wheelchair areas cost the same as for other UW parking areas. Gatehouses are staffed weekdays from 6am – 9pm and on Saturdays from 7am until noon. At the gatehouse ask for disability parking and building access information as needed. Central Plaza Garage clearance is 6’10”. There are entrances to Meany Hall on levels C2-C5.

  • Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse: The closest parking is on the street, or in the Central Garage or lot W12.

  • Meany Theater: Central Plaza Garage has 3 wheelchair parking stalls and 1 disability stall on level C1, and 6 wheelchair parking stalls and 3 disability parking stalls on level C2.  Patrons should pay for a pass at the gate and let the attendant know that they need a disabled space.  They will be directed to the closest space.

  • Meany Studio Theater:  Wheelchair patrons should park on level C1 of the garage (the top level).  This is the only way to access the Studio without stairs.

  • Penthouse Theater: Lot N5 has 2 disability parking stalls.  Patrons should pay for a pass at the gate, and the attendant will direct them to the nearest lot.
